Introduction to learning American Sign Language and Deaf Culture. Students will be introduced to how to learn a visual language, including basic greetings, etiquette for communicating in ASL, beginning fingerspelling and numbers skills. This class is for students who have no basic ASL skills and who have never taken any ASL classes.

More finger spelling practice, numbers and different kinds of numbers, listing and role shifting. Discuss living situations, families, life events, and families. Introducing role shifting and other grammatical features of ASL.
